Valentine's Day

I guess I am kind of a bah-hum-bug kind of person when it comes to all the holiday's. I get tired of having something every month that I have to go out of my way to make/buy for my girls and their school class. I was trying to do something fun and different for Valentines Day so I stole an idea off from Pinterest. I put a heart on Kaitlyn's and Madison's door every day leading up to Valentine's day telling something I loved about them. This is what I got in return from Madison. It made me smile!

Johnny Corbin

One of the things that Curtis and I loooove to do is go and look at the Parade of Homes. Throw in a motorcycle ride and it is the perfect date. We have seen so many amazing things that when we win the lottery we will have the coolest house! One of the things we have picked up on is having a theme for our children's rooms. It was a given from day one that if we ever had a boy the theme would be John Deere. Well Curtis got his dream and we went on a wild binge. We were later diagnosed as John-Deere-a-holics. It became so bad that the running joke is we would have to change Corbin's name to JD or Johnny Corbin. Another thing that added fuel to the fire was Corbin being in the hospital so long. I had to channel my time and energy into something to keep me from going crazy and being locked up. Here is what happened with our addiction:

This is a custom made light. Curtis bought a lantern and then modified it to be a lamp with a LED light. This was his baby and obsession. . . I just had to go with the flow because I didn't have any say!

We bought this panel before we were married and now we can finally use it! It went perfectly with the material we bought for the changing pad cover, crib sheet and valance.

I love this picture! Every time I found it I just couldn't bite the bullet and pay what they were asking. Then came a day that it was out of stock everywhere! Well in the end I paid a lot more than I would have in the beginning but how could I have resisted! Okay I became obsessed.

Once again this was a custom made curtain rod. And of course we could only find one tractor. We had to send reinforcements out to look at different Cal Ranch's around the state so we can have one on both ends.
If you try to find John Deere bedding online you will only find incredibly ugly things. So what did we have to resort to? I had to take my very basic sewing skills and I took on the task of making my own matching bedding set.

I was very proud of this one. I made the valance to have overall straps.
We couldn't find any of the John Deere panels that would work with the bumper so we had to borrow from the International Tractor group for part of our bedding. There was too much red so I had to cut out part of it so it would go a little better with the other bedding. It didn't match perfectly but it will just have to do. Each of the area is a different strip. What a pain to cut and sew 5 different strips for just the front of the bumper. But I do have to say it turned out pretty cute.
This is the back of the bumper

We walked by this stuffed toy multiple times in the hospital. It teased and taunted us until we finally broke down and bought it. It even makes tractor noises :)

I loved how the shelves turned out that Curtis and my Dad put together!

We randomly found this shelf while we were out finding baskets for his room. We managed to fit it into our car to get it home.

This is the finishing touch. . . tractor fan pulls.
Now you can make fun of us and tell us how ridiculous our obsession was. With all the pain and suffering that went into this room I have to say I am happy with how it turned out!!
