Parade of Homes

I love seeing the Parade of Homes! One friend asked why I would want to see the homes because all it would do is make her jealous. I love seeing all the possibilities there are out there and incorporate my favorite things into my dream home. After seeing a couple of homes we definitely will tweak our house plans so we can fit in these few things. We have seen many different little hideaways under the stairs but the house we saw took it to the next level. The outside of the house/cubbie area was rocked, it had a lamp next to it, it had a bay window, a chandelier and even a roof with shingles on the side. The other house we saw had a built in slide from the main floor into the basement and the slide came out into a cave. The cave consisted of 300 cans of spray foam! And did I mention the under-the-stair kid mansion also has lights by the front door?!?

Freedom

I had a lot of people ask me what I was going to do while my kids were gone for a week and a half so here is what we did. Usually when my kids are gone, the first couple of hours are great but then all I can think about is them and I spend more time moping around missing them and not enjoying it. Well this time I vowed to enjoy myself! and boy did we live life to the fullest! The minute that our children left we ran to the store for a snack and movie run. I very rarely buy any kind of snack item because one I don't won't my kids eating it and two I think it is a waste of money. I have learned that when you deprive yourself of things you really enjoy and then you splurge, you really splurge. Of course our trip consisted of Cheetos, brownies, cookies, and blue Mountain Dew. As if that wasn't enough we had a chocolate/pop run about every other night. I also decided that if I really didn't want to do something I didn't do it. This proposition was a lot easier because there was only me and Curtis to clean up after so the dishes, laundry and disasters were cut down immensely. Needless to say I didn't really do much cooking or cleaning and one night's dinner consisted of brownies and then we went out to pizza for dessert. When I bragged about it to Kaitlyn she said that I had it backwards. She didn't know quite how to take that bit of information. All in all, basically the only two things we really did while my kids were away were ride the motorcycle and see the Parade of Homes and mostly we enjoyed both at the same time. It is really hard to find time to go on the motorcycle because the it is not really a family activity so we spent a lot of time enjoying the warm weather. We rode over the back way into Draper and rode past the Draper temple. It was such a beautiful ride. Thank You for all those who were enjoying my little ones so I could enjoy being without them ;)
